چکیده

In this paper, the problem of spectrum sensing in cognitive radio communication networks is considered. This paper proposes a robust decision fusion scheme that can perform well when interference caused by other sources is present. Specifically, the proposed detection scheme is based on fusing the local decisions from energy detectors and cyclostationarity-based detectors. The proposed fusion scheme is different from other power spectrum-sensing technology developed so far in that other fusion technologies are based on fusing the local decisions from the same type of detectors instead of the different types of detectors as considered here. The proposed scheme was compared with schemes fusing the same type of detectors, and the results show that the proposed scheme is more robust against possible interference.

Cooperative Spectrum Sensing Based on a Low-Complexity Cyclostationary Detection Method for Cognitive Radio Networks

Fast reliable spectrum sensing (SS) is a crucial problem in the cognitive radio systems. To address this issue, cyclostationarity-based detection methods, which are generally more complex but more reliable than energy detection methods, have been proposed. This paper presents a new method to detect the presence of the second-order cyclostationarity in the OFDM-based primary user (PU) signals. T...

A Cyclostationarity-Based Spectrum Sensing Scheme for Cognitive Radios With Dynamic Primary User Signals

This paper addresses a cyclostationarity-based spectrum sensing scheme for cognitive radios in dynamic primary user (PU) traffic environments where the PU might randomly depart or arrive during the sensing period. At first, the spectrum sensing problem in dynamic PU traffic environments is formulated as a binary hypothesis testing problem. Then, a test statistic for spectrum sensing is derived ...

Investigation of Always Present and Spectrum Sensing based Incumbent Emulators

Cognitive radio (CR) technology has been suggested for effective use of spectral resources. Spectrum sensing is one of the main operations of CR users to identify the vacant frequency bands. Cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) is used to increase the performance of CR networks by providing spatial diversity. The accuracy of spectrum sensing is the most important challenge in the CSS process sinc...

Collaborative Spectrum Sensing Scheme: Quantized Weighting with Censoring

Spectrum vacancies that stem from current non-usage of the spectrum band by legacy primary users can be detected using various spectrum sensing techniques. These techniques depend on the actual knowledge of the radio environment being inspected, i.e. signal characteristics, noise levels etc. The simplest and most common spectrum sensing technique is energy based detection that needs no a priori...

A study of OFDM signal detection using cyclostationarity

In a Spectrum Pooling context, Cognitive Radio nodes have to perform spectrum sensing in order to find available spectrum holes. In this paper, OFDM cyclostationarity is studied as the best detector choice to find white spaces in the spectrum. OFDM signal detection can be performed using the induced cyclostationarity of the cyclic prefix. On the other hand, OFDM signal identification can be per...
